15TH NOV 2024- DAY 15. PROVOKING THE MERCIES OF GOD
Lamentation 3:22-23. “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness,”
Where there is no mercy you receive the full punishment of your crime, but with mercy comes forgiveness. In place of judgment and condemnation, you receive mercy.
Samson failed and his eyes were plucked out. He was mocked, but he cried for mercy and his hairs grew again. David at different cases invoked God’s mercy and he was not consumed.
Mercy is a mystery. It is God’s bail out or rescue system for his people. It is not just a provision for sinners to know the lord, but a plan for man, regardless of his qualifications or sin, to be at peace with God. In fact, the only qualification for mercy is for man to cry out to God as In Exodus 3:7.
